GENERAL INFORMATION & CONDITIONS OUR TOURS - The tours are designed to appeal to naturalists and anyone with an interest in the natural world. Your guide will identify and interpret the flora and fauna and the physical landscapes of the areas visited. All of our tours visit those regions of exceptional scenic values for which western North America is world famous…….British Columbia, Yukon, Arizona, Utah. LEADER - All tours are led by the owner and proprietor of Whiskeyjack Nature Tours, Tony Greenfield, unless otherwise noted. GROUP SIZE - All advertised tours are limited to a maximum of 10 participants. Panama/Costa Rica tour is limited to 12 participants. TRANSPORTATION - Ground travel is in rented, late model (generally new), well maintained, air-conditioned, 15 passenger vans. The 10 participant limit allows room for the accompanying luggage to be safely carried inside the tour vehicle. DRIVER - Tony Greenfield has a BC, Class 4 (Chauffeurs) Drivers Licence, 40 years of accident-free driving, and has been driving crews and groups for all of that time. Your safety and relaxation is our first consideration. ACCOMMODATION - Generally we stay in middle of the road hotel/motel accommodation, such as Best Western 3 star hotels. There is some variability based on availability and cost, but our aim is to supply comfortable rooms at a reasonable cost. DOUBLE OCCUPANCY - All prices quoted are for Double Occupancy of hotel rooms. Whiskeyjack Nature Tours will endeavour to find a suitable room share partner for those traveling alone, but if no such partner is available then the Single Occupancy supplement will apply. SINGLE OCCUPANCY - Generally Single Occupancy is available on payment of the Single Occupancy supplement. WHAT THE TOUR PRICE INCLUDES All transportation, accommodation, guiding, entry fees, and taxes from the point of departure of the tour are included. GST at 5% is additional to the quoted prices for all Canadian tours. For non-Canadian tours, GST is not applicable. Residents of the USA and other countries can apply to receive a full rebate of the GST on all tours. On some tours, at some hotels, a complimentary breakfast is included in the price. Lunches and dinners are generally NOT included in the tour price. These meals are taken in local restaurants. Usually the group will eat together, but this is definitely optional. **NB. The Sunshine Coast for Naturalists tour is inclusive of ALL meals. **NB. The Panama-Costa Rica Birding Tour is inclusive of ALL meals. TOUR CANCELLATION The operation of all tours is dependent upon sufficient sign-up, and we reserve the right to cancel any tour. If the tour is threatened with cancellation due to insufficient sign-up you will be informed of this 60 days prior to departure. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY At the time of booking you must complete the Medical Release Form detailing any known medical conditions pertinent to your safety during the tour. All of our tours include some easy walking. None of our hiking is strenuous. We will be happy to discuss this aspect with everyone individually. You are, of course, welcome to skip any activity that you consider too strenuous for your personal ability.
BOOKING CONDITIONS RESERVATIONS - Reservations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Your place will be reserved on receipt of a booking deposit of $300 CAD/USD for Canadian/USA tours. The booking deposit is $600 CAD/USD for Panama/Costa Rica. Booking deposits can be made by cheque, Mastercard or Visa. REGISTRATION & RELEASE OF LIABILITY - At the time of booking you will be asked to complete a Registration Form, and a Release of Liability Form BALANCE OF TOUR COST - You will be invoiced for the balance of your cost 60 days prior to departure (120 days for Panama/Costa Rica). The balance can be paid by cheque, Mastercard or Visa. Please note that balances paid by credit card are subject to a service charge. CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY for CANADIAN/USA TOURS If you decide to cancel a reserved space, notice of cancellation must be in writing, or by e-mail. If the cancellation is received 90 days prior to departure you will receive a full refund, minus a $100 CAD, $100 USD handling fee. If the cancellation is received 60-89 days prior to departure the deposit is not refundable. If the cancellation is received within 59 days of departure, we will refund any costs, such as hotel rooms, that are separable, and that are recovered by Whiskeyjack Nature Tours from our suppliers. There can be no refunds for inseparable costs such as vehicle rentals, leader’s expenses, etc. If Whiskeyjack Nature Tours must cancel a tour prior to departure you will receive a full refund of all monies paid. CANCELLATION INSURANCE Cancellation insurance is strongly recommended for any tour if there is a possibility that you may have to cancel your reservations for medical or any other reason.
